    the story behind the design

Before the breakthrough, there were the logs.

Early 1960. Engineers filling pages with test notes, failure points, tuning margins. AFR trim on cylinder 4. DLC coating on the camshaft lobes. Throttle body sync 1.2mm off at idle. Every fault documented. Every variable studied. Every fix that didn't work, logged alongside the ones that did.

The inline-four didn't become the defining engine of modern motorcycling by accident. It got there because engineers refused to stop writing things down.

    This piece is their log.

    Fabric & Construction

Made from 220 GSM 100% long-staple combed cotton with a closed-knit structure and shorter loop length — this gives the fabric a noticeably tighter, more rigid hand feel that holds its shape wear after wear. Finished with a silicone softener wash for a smooth touch without sacrificing structure.

Long-staple cotton means longer fibres, which translates to a finer, stronger yarn with less pilling and a cleaner surface over time.

    Responsibly Made

The cotton is BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) sourced, meaning every yard traces back to farming practices that are better for people, water, and soil. Our vendor uses only non-toxic dyes through a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) dyeing process — so nothing harmful goes back into the environment.

The facility is SEDEX certified, meeting internationally recognised standards for social and ethical compliance across labour, health & safety, and business conduct.

    Sourcing & Materials

    Sustainable sourcing

We are committed to quality products that are manufactured ethically and sustainably. All of our pieces are traceable throughout the supply chain. We strive to ensure our products contribute to the well-being of people and planet, and our efforts put us on track towards a brighter future.

    Ethical labor

Our founders Christina Smith and Clement Savant founded Broadcast to break the norms of the jewelry industry. Cheap, disposable jewelry creates an incentive structure to bid out the work to the cheapest factory available. We need to vote with our dollars for a more equitable world.

    Transparent values

We hold true to to who we are. We believe in equality and justice for all, and those beliefs permeate the work that we do and the jewelry we make. Everything we do stands for our values and we try to think, speak, and act in a framework of positive change. Cast out your voice and make a difference.
